In the spring of 2017, we welcomed 7 hives of honeybees. Pollinators are indispensable to the ecosystem and the success of crops across Ireland, and giving a population of honeybees a good home is one of the ways we’re giving back to the environment. Throughout spring, summer, and autumn, our honeybees will roam the estate foraging for nectar and gathering pollen on their back legs. As they move from flower to flower, they pollinate each plant they visit, ensuring a sufficient harvest.
