The collaboration between Adare Manor and Midleton Distillery has created a series of exclusive Irish whiskeys that are particularly significant to collectors.
Each Adare Manor Midleton Very Rare Single Cask release comes from a specially selected cask and is bottled in a limited quantity. The series celebrates the character that can develop through exceptional maturation, while creating a whiskey intrinsically connected to Adare Manor.
The Adare Manor Midleton Very Rare Single Cask collection is a seven-part release series, each offering its own distinctive profile and provenance.
Among them, the sixth release, the penultimate and most recent cask release of the series, is particularly notable.
The Sixth Adare Manor Midleton Very Rare Release
The sixth Adare Manor Midleton Very Rare Single Cask release is an exceptionally limited Irish pot still whiskey, with only 120 bottles produced.
It is the sixth release in Adare Manor's seven-cask collaboration with Midleton Distillery and the penultimate expression in the series.
The whiskey was drawn from a virgin American oak barrel laid down by former Midleton Master Distiller Barry Crockett on 25 August 1998. After 24 years of maturation, the cask was selected by Master Distiller Kevin O'Gorman for its distinctive character and depth.
The resulting whiskey brings together rich fruit, chocolate, oak and pot still spice; a profile shaped by both the spirit and its long maturation in American oak.
The tasting notes include:
Nose: Vibrant citrus peel, mango and strawberry develop alongside coconut shavings and chocolate mousse. Charred oak introduces notes of smoked wood, nutmeg, white pepper and clove.
Taste: Dark chocolate and cocoa powder combine with robust tannins reminiscent of black tea, followed by layers of mixed fruit, clove, cinnamon and pot still spice.
Finish: Long and satisfying, with the fruit gradually giving way to lingering oak and spice.
With just 120 bottles produced, the sixth release is a distinctive addition to a collection of rare Irish whiskey and an important chapter in the Adare Manor and Midleton partnership.
